The Caped Curmudgeon Strikes Cricket

I have recently purchased the new WAP web-browsing capability for Cricket phones on my calling plan. What I have noticed is that Cricket will allow me to go to a *very narrow* range of websites, but intentionally blocks out a very large number of websites -- especially websites which are specifically WAP-enabled for cell phone browsing -- for no obviously intelligent reason! Why is that? Cricket offers Internet browsing, but instead this is is like a $5 service to use Cricket's portasite. And even a great majority of the links connected to the Cricket WAPsite are not allowed! What is the explanation for this? Why is Cricket preventing its customers from actually being able to browse? I can't check the news I desire, from sites who have the information readily available for any cell phone. I can't make use of any other means of information gathering either. Frankly, calling this a "web browsing" capability stinks of false advertising to me.
